Upcoming Workshops

Pocosin School of Fine Craft ON-LINE Workshop
May 3 & 10,
12 - 2pm ET

Pinching is one of the most basic techniques and in this workshop we will use this simple method to explore more complex forms within the realm of functional and sculptural objects. Emily will demonstrate different ways of creating marks within hand-building and show how even within pinching and coil building there is a lot of room for exploration. Additionally, she will show how she uses coil and bisque molds to create the bases of some of her work.

August 5-9

This in-person workshop will focus on this deceptively simple yet versatile approach to hand-building, exploring the realms of both functional vessels and sculpture using a blend of traditional and contemporary methods. Through the lens of historical pinched vessels from diverse cultures, we'll glean insights to expand our artistic process. Prepare to pinch till your hearts content, no prior experience required. Bisquing only, no glazing.
